You know the feeling. It’s 14:00, lunch just calmed down, and you finally have a minute with a coffee in your hand. But instead of catching your breath, you’re thinking: Are we having a good day? Should I call someone in for tonight? Why does Tuesday feel busier than the numbers say? For most restaurant owners, that math has always been a guess.
We’ve been quietly building something to change that. Soon, we’re rolling out a major update to Insights, and we wanted to give you an early look at what’s on the way.
And before we go any further, it’s built right into Eatcard. No expensive and complicated third party integrations. It just becomes part of the platform you already use every day.
First, the boring (but important) part: Insights is getting noticeably faster. Reports load the moment you open them. Live number refresh without you reaching for the refresh button.
We’ve rebuilt the foundation so that the answer is already there by the time you’ve asked for it. Because we know that when service is in full swing, three seconds of waiting is three second too long.

The new insights doesn’t just tell you how yesterday went. It shows you how today is ging, and what to expect from today onwards.
You’ll be able to glance at one screen and instantly know whether you’re behind, or right on track without doing any calculations. And when something needs your attention, Insights will simply tell you. A table that’s gone quiet, a rush hour that’s building faster than usual or a product that’s been underperforming compared to history data.

Running more than one location? this one’s for you.
The update will bring significant improvement to how you’l be able to overview all your locations. Things like: every venue ranked side by side, which are running slow and where it’s worth a quick check in. No more logging in or switching between different accounts or dashboards.

Numbers are only useful when you understand them. So we’re teaching Insights to do some of that thinking for you. You’ll get a plain-language read on what changed, why it likely changed, and what’s worth doing about it.
And it goes beyond the top-line numbers. Insights will dig into how your restaurant actually performs. Like cooking times, the staffing really needed, and the margin sitting behind of each of them.
We’re not showing everything yet. There’s more we’re saving for once its actually live for everyone. But we wanted you to know it’s coming.
