Eatcard POS Receives the Reliable Checkout System Certification

On 29 June 2023, Eatcard POS received the Reliable Checkout System certification (Keurmerk Betrouwbaar Afrekensysteem) from the Dutch Foundation for Reliable Checkout Systems. This independently confirms that our system meets the standards you should expect from a checkout system.

What is the Reliable Checkout System certification?

The Foundation for Reliable Checkout Systems (Stichting Betrouwbare Afrekensystemen) is an independent organisation committed to reliable and transparent checkout systems in the Netherlands. The foundation assesses POS systems against a fixed set of quality requirements and awards the Reliable Checkout System certification to those that meet them.

The certification is not a formality. A system is independently assessed on reliability, security and the correct recording of data, among other things. Only when a system meets all of these requirements is it allowed to carry the mark. This way, you know that a certified system has been approved not only by the supplier itself, but also by an independent party.

For the Tax Authority and for entrepreneurs alike, this certification is a recognisable signal: the checkout system records transactions exactly as it should, with no room for errors or manipulation.

Why does a reliable POS system matter?

A POS system does more than process payments. It forms the basis for your revenue administration, your VAT return and your insight into how your business is running. If that data is not accurate, it has a direct impact on how you operate.

A reliable system records every transaction completely and correctly. That gives you peace of mind with the Tax Authority, because your administration is demonstrably in order. It also gives you peace of mind in your daily work: you know that the figures you see are the figures you can act on.

Security plays a role as well. A checkout system handles sensitive data and often runs across multiple devices at once. You want that data protected and the system stable, even during your busiest moments.

On 29 June 2023, the certificate was presented to Eatcard. This means Eatcard POS demonstrably meets the requirements of the Foundation for Reliable Checkout Systems in terms of reliability, security and the correct recording of data.
