A fresh Korean and Japanese concept

In the heart of Almere, Café Gogi introduces a unique fusion concept that brings together two of Asia’s most beloved street food favorites: Korean egg toast and Japanese fluffy pancakes. Founded by entrepreneur Peter, Café Gogi is more than just a new café. It is the result of travel inspiration, culinary passion, and smart hospitality technology working together.

After successfully operating multiple hospitality concepts, including Geonbae Korean Barbecue and Yoyo Fresh Tea Bar Almere, Peter launched Café Gogi as a brand new concept in the Netherlands. The idea was born during a trip to Hong Kong and Japan in 2024, where Korean egg toast and Japanese pancakes quickly became the couple’s favorite dishes of the entire holiday. Back in the Netherlands, they combined both favorites into one distinctive concept that now attracts a broad and modern audience in Almere.

From day one, Eatcard has been a key part of the business operations.

A long term partnership with Eatcard

Peter first connected with Eatcard in 2021. After visiting the Eatcard office and speaking with the team, he quickly saw how the system could support the way he manages his restaurants. Since then, all three of Peter’s businesses operate fully on the Eatcard ecosystem.

What makes Eatcard stand out for Café Gogi?
For Peter, one of the biggest advantages is the simplicity and clarity of the system. The interface is straightforward and easy to understand, which means new staff members can start working with it almost immediately. In a busy hospitality environment, that ease of use makes a real difference during daily operations.

More importantly, everything is connected within one platform. Reservations, ordering, POS, payments, and administration are fully integrated. At the end of the month, reports can be generated in Insights with just one click. This centralization saves time, reduces errors, and provides full operational clarity.

Café Gogi Self Order Kiosk

QR ordering and automatic payment for maximum efficiency

At Café Gogi, around 80 percent of guests order through QR at the table. Guests scan the code, place their order, and complete payment immediately. Orders are only sent to the kitchen once payment is finalized. This eliminates uncertainty and removes the need for staff to process payments afterward.

The result is faster table turnover, improved cash flow, and reduced staffing pressure. There is no need to check whether a guest has paid or to walk back and forth for separate payment moments. This system supports a lean team structure without compromising service quality.

For guests who prefer traditional ordering, Café Gogi also offers ordering through the POS, Handheld or Self order kiosk. Approximately 20 percent of guests use these alternatives, ensuring that every demographic feels comfortable. Younger audiences adapt quickly to QR ordering, while older guests receive support through staff or the Self order kiosk.

This flexibility allows Café Gogi to handle peak moments smoothly while maintaining control and overview.

Café Gogi Egg Toast

Built for growth

Although Café Gogi has only recently opened its doors in Almere, the foundation has been carefully built for long term success. The strength of the concept lies not only in its unique combination of Korean egg toast and Japanese fluffy pancakes, but also in the operational structure behind it.

By running the entire operation within one integrated Eatcard ecosystem, Café Gogi maintains full control and clarity across the business. Orders, payments and reporting are seamlessly connected, allowing the team to move quickly without losing oversight. Instead of switching between separate systems or manually reconciling data, everything is accessible in one environment.

This streamlined setup creates space to focus on growth. Peak hours remain manageable, staff can work efficiently with minimal training, and financial reporting requires far less administrative effort. Decisions are based on real time data rather than assumptions, giving the business the confidence to scale further.

For hospitality entrepreneurs who want to combine creativity with operational efficiency, Café Gogi demonstrates how the right technology supports ambition. With Eatcard powering the operations behind the scenes, the team can fully concentrate on delivering quality, speed, and a memorable guest experience to every visitor in Almere.
